Modern Dental Prosthetics in Warsaw
Modern dental prosthetics is not simply about replacing lost teeth, but rather a comprehensive approach to restoring the aesthetics of a smile, chewing function, and clear speech. A properly selected prosthesis mimics natural teeth as closely as possible, restores comfort and self-confidence, and significantly improves quality of life.
When Is Prosthetic Treatment Indicated? Prosthetic treatment is recommended in various clinical situations:
when one or more teeth are missing;
in cases of complete edentulism (absence of all teeth in the jaw);
when implants cannot be placed for medical reasons;
as a temporary measure prior to implantation to preserve the bite and ensure even load distribution;
when there are contraindications to other restoration methods.
Even the loss of a single tooth can, over time, lead to the shifting of adjacent teeth, bite misalignment, and a reduction in bone volume. Therefore, it is important to consult an orthodontist in a timely manner—this will help avoid complications and preserve the harmony of your smile and facial features.
Modern dentures have long since ceased to resemble the “removable dentures” of the past. Today, they are highly precise devices that look as natural as possible and fully restore function. The key is to choose the best option based on the patient’s individual characteristics.
The choice of restoration is always individualized and depends on the number of missing teeth, the condition of the bone, the bite, and the patient’s aesthetic and functional requirements.
Removable dentures
Acrylic Recommended for patients with complete edentulism. They are affordable and simple to manufacture. Modern versions are anatomically shaped, fit securely, and generally do not cause significant discomfort.
Nylon Flexible, hypoallergenic designs without metal components. They are suitable for patients with heightened sensitivity. They provide comfort from the very first days of wear and look as natural as possible.
Clasp-Retained These consist of a metal framework with acrylic or ceramic components. Support from the patient’s own teeth allows for even load distribution and reduces the risk of bone atrophy. These dentures are durable, stable, and long-lasting, especially in cases of partial tooth loss.
It is important to note that removable dentures require an adjustment period—on average, 2 to 4 weeks—until the muscles and joints fully adapt to the new load.
Fixed dentures
Bridge Prostheses These are anchored to adjacent teeth and allow for the restoration of 3–4 consecutive missing teeth. This is a quick way to restore both aesthetics and chewing function, but it requires preparation (shaving down) of the abutment teeth. Depending on the clinical situation and the smile zone, metal, ceramic, or zirconia structures are used.
Implant-Supported Dentures These feel and function as closely as possible to natural teeth. They provide secure retention and full restoration of chewing function. Their lifespan can exceed 15 years. A key advantage is that there is no need to grind down adjacent teeth, and bone atrophy is prevented thanks to the placement of implants.
Partially Removable Restorations These are secured using special locking elements (attachments). They combine the advantages of removable and fixed solutions: they are securely fixed but can be easily removed for oral hygiene. The adjustment period is minimal—usually within a day, the patient experiences no discomfort while speaking or eating.
Stages of Treatment at MONÉ Dental Clinic
We approach each clinical case individually—taking into account the condition of the teeth, the characteristics of the bite, aesthetic goals, and the patient’s expectations. Thanks to our in-house laboratory and digital modeling, we oversee the entire process—from diagnosis to the final placement of the restoration.
Consultation and Diagnosis
The initial consultation includes a detailed examination and a discussion with the orthodontist. The condition of the teeth, gums, bite, and bone tissue is assessed, and the patient’s concerns—ranging from functional to aesthetic—are discussed. If necessary, an X-ray or CT scan is performed to accurately evaluate the roots and bone structures.
Based on the diagnosis, the doctor will suggest possible prosthetic options, show examples, and help you choose the best solution in terms of functionality, aesthetics, and budget. A detailed treatment plan, including timelines and costs, is also developed at this stage.
Preparation for Dental Prosthetics
Before installing the dental restoration, it is important to establish a healthy foundation. Oral rehabilitation is performed, including treatment of cavities and inflammation, replacement of old restorations, and professional cleaning.
If necessary, the abutment teeth are prepared while preserving as much natural tooth structure as possible. For the patient’s comfort, modern anesthesia or sedation is used. Next, precise impressions are taken or a 3D scan is performed. Temporary restorations are placed while the permanent ones are being fabricated so that the patient can chew and smile comfortably.
Manufacturing the Structure
The prosthesis is fabricated in our in-house dental laboratory, which allows us to fully control both quality and turnaround time. A digital model of the future restoration is created, and the shape and shade of the teeth are finalized. If necessary, a trial fitting of the framework is performed.
Once all parameters have been approved, the final ceramic layer—which mimics natural enamel—is applied. On average, the process takes 5–7 days, during which time the patient wears a temporary prosthesis.
Installation and Customization
The finished restoration is fitted under the dentist’s supervision. The fit, tooth-to-tooth contact, and bite are checked. Minor adjustments are made as needed.
The restoration is secured using modern materials that ensure reliability and durability. After placement, the patient receives care instructions and a schedule for follow-up visits.
In the first few days, the patient may feel some discomfort, especially with removable restorations; however, adaptation occurs quickly—speech and chewing are fully restored in a short time.
Monitoring and Prevention
After treatment is complete, it is important to have regular checkups. The first follow-up appointment is usually scheduled 2–3 weeks later, followed by checkups every 6 months. During the appointment, the dentist assesses the condition of the tissues, the fit of the prosthesis, and the bite, and performs any necessary adjustments or professional cleaning. This helps extend the life of the prosthesis and preserve the results for many years to come.
At MONÉ, the entire process—from the initial consultation to full adaptation—is managed by a single team of specialists. We combine technology, aesthetics, and attentive patient care to ensure that dental restoration is not only effective but also as comfortable as possible.

Fitting and Care of Dentures
In the first few days after placement, you may experience mild discomfort, such as increased salivation, slight changes in speech, or a feeling of pressure. This is a normal bodily reaction. As a rule, patients fully adjust to the prosthesis within 1–2 weeks. In the case of conditionally removable prostheses, adaptation may take as little as one day. Over time, the muscles and tongue adapt, movements become natural, and the prosthesis begins to feel like your own teeth.
Prosthesis Care To maintain functionality and aesthetics, it is important to follow these recommendations:
clean the dentures daily with special brushes and cleaning products;
for removable dentures, use cleaning solutions regularly;
rinse your mouth after meals;
visit your prosthodontist for checkups and preventive adjustments.
With proper care, the average lifespan of dentures ranges from 5 to 15 years, depending on the design and materials used.

You may experience some mild discomfort during the first 2–4 weeks—this is a natural adjustment period as you get used to the new device. As you adapt, any discomfort will gradually disappear.
This depends on the type of denture and your dentist's recommendations. In some cases, it is not necessary to remove the denture at night; in others, it is recommended to allow the mucous membrane to rest.
Under no circumstances should you file them down yourself! You must see a doctor for professional correction.
If there are changes in your bite, cracks, or wear, or after the period recommended by your dentist (on average, 5–10 years for removable veneers).
